Ajowan (Ajwain) Essential Oil is also known as Bishop’s weed or Indian Thyme which is widely used for the treatment of various health related problems. Trachyspermum ammi is the botanical name of Ajowan Oil which is extracted from seeds using steam distillation. Ajowan Seed Oil is carminative, aromatic and a stimulant which is cultivated in and around the Mediterranean Sea and in parts of south-west Asia extending from Iraq to India.

Ajowan Oil has been used in indigenous medicines as well as it has varied uses in Unani and Ayurvedic medicines. Ajowan is a great essential oil used when fighting infection as well as used as a carminative, helping with many digestive issues.

Botanical Name: Trachyspermum ammi.

Collection Method: Steam Distillation.

Plant Part: Seeds.

Aromatic Description: It has a herbaceous, spicy, medicinal fragrance with a strong top note similar to thyme.

Consistency: Thin.

Color: Pale yeloow to brownish

Family: Apiaceae (parsley)

Origin : India

Common Uses: This oil is effective in treating various skin infections.

Blends Well With: Ajowan Oil blends well with Thyme, Parsley and Sage Dalmatian.

Directions for Use:

. Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.

. Topical use: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area.

Cautions:

If pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care, consult physician. Discontinue use if skin sensitivity occurs. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. Do not use undiluted on skin. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on broken skin or on abrasions.
